Machine Operator
Nature of position: To have an overall knowledge of ink-jet addressing systems, poly-wrapping and envelope enclosing machines, ensure jobs are set-up, problems resolved, efficiently run and complete jobs on time.
Reporting to: Assistant Production Manager
Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:
To ensure specific job instructions are adhered to
To ensure jobs are completed on time, accurately and to a high standard and to report immediately to the Assistant Production Manager when not possible
To ensure correct staffing levels for your machine are also in line with production expectations/requirements
To identify areas requiring improvement and deal with them immediately, or present a method for improvement to the Assistant Production Manager
To regularly monitor and report to the Assistant Production Manager the quality of material being produced by all departments and to action improvements without delay
To provide training, support and supervision to all staff, including temporary staff, where necessary
To take responsibility for and be the first point of contact for all staff working on your machine
To be pro-active with a can-do attitude and not reactive in your work
To work extra hours as and when required to meet customer deadlines
